Outpatient/Inpatient Physical Therapist (October 2016 – June 2022)
Collaboratively worked with multi-disciplinary oncology hospital professions to maximize functional abilities of patients undergoing oncology treatments. Frequently communicated with physicians and other medical providers to discuss patient cases to maximize effectiveness of physical therapy interventions within both an outpatient clinic as well as in an acute care hospital setting. Applied functional knowledge of oncology treatments to speak at professional conferences, host webinars, and speak at monthly patient informational sessions. Assessed response to oncology treatments to provide physical therapy interventions to help maintain and/or improve functional mobility and quality of life. As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, implemented a program to monitor and assess breast cancer patients to detect subclinical lymphedema and intervene at initial onset to maximize recovery. Assessed and interpreted clinical data from patient lab values, imaging studies, and oncology treatment plan to establish appropriate physical therapy plan of care to address impairments noted or to lessen severity of known treatment side-effects, such as chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.

As a PRN Physical Therapist, worked to evaluate, establish, and carry out physical therapy plan of care for geriatric and adult populations, including orthopedic, neurologic, medical complex, and post-COVID patients. Worked alongside nursing staff to provide highest level of respectable care to patients in the inpatient rehab hospital.
Outpatient Physical Therapist (June 2015 – October 2016)
Utilized skills, primarily manual therapy skills, to address patients with primarily orthopedic-based impairments. Oversaw purchasing of clinic items, prioritizing needs to remain within budgets. Participated in continuing education courses to become a dry needling practitioner, utilizing dry needling into the plan of care, when appropriate. Participated in Benchmark’s Mentoring Program to improve knowledge about leadership skills, time management skills, etc.

As a staff physical therapist, managed a full outpatient caseload, flexed time in acute care/inpatient rehab, and worked weekends at Sylvan Grove Hospital, a swing-bed rehabilitation facility in Jackson, GA. I primarily treated outpatient orthopedic and neurologic impairments spanning across various lifespans. Worked at local factories, providing ergonomic assessments to improve workplace conditions for employees.
