EMG Solutions is excited to about the development of our new residency program in clinical electrophysiology. It is only the second Clinical Electrophysiology residency offered in the United States and we are the first and only fully immersive residency program that pays you while you learn. Our intensive program includes one-on-one mentoring with a comprehensive didactic learning experience. A resident completing our program and successfully submitting their application will be ready to sit for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certification exam within 13 months of beginning the program. Completion of this residency will give you the confidence you need to practice clinical electrophysiology and become ABPTS board certified.
The EMG Solutions residency program is based out of Montgomery, Alabama and services the surrounding areas. We provide top of the line equipment for the resident to use throughout the program. An ideal residency candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic and high levels of self-motivation. The candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to interact confidently with physicians, staff and co-workers. Qualifications for residency application include graduation from an accredited physical therapy program, current physical therapy license and ability to obtain physical therapy licenses in Alabama and Georgia. Candidates must also have reliable transportation as some travel between clinics is required. Two years of post-graduation experience as a physical therapist is preferred but not required.
“We are pleased to inform you that, upon review of the Team Lead’s Report pertaining to the August 5, 2021 site visit and subsequent August 12, 2021 program response, the Board took action to grant initial accreditation of EMG Solutions Clinical Electrophysiology Residency for a period of 5 years through September 2026.” EMG Solutions has recently received accreditation for their residency program by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency & Fellowship Education.
Applications are accepted only through the APTA’s Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) here. Residency candidates will find all the necessary application documents and instructions through this website.
