EMG Solutions is excited to announce the development of our new residency program in clinical electrophysiology. It is only the second Clinical Electrophysiology residency offered in the United States and we are the first and only fully immersive residency program that pays you while you learn. Our intensive program includes one-on-one mentoring with a comprehensive didactic learning experience. A resident completing our program will be ready to take the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certification exam within one year of beginning the program. Completion of this residency will give you the confidence you need to practice clinical electrophysiology and become ABPTS board certified.
The EMG Solutions residency program is based out of Montgomery, Alabama and services the surrounding areas. We provide top of the line equipment for the resident to use throughout the program. An ideal residency candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic and high levels of self-motivation. The candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to interact confidently with physicians, staff and co-workers. Qualifications for residency application include graduation from an accredited physical therapy program, current physical therapy license and ability to obtain physical therapy licenses in Alabama and Georgia. Candidates must also have reliable transportation as some travel between clinics is required. Two years of post-graduation experience as a physical therapist is preferred but not required.
Applications are accepted only through the APTA’s Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) at http://www.ptcas.org/home.aspx. Residency candidates will find all the necessary application documents and instructions through this website. The EMG Solutions clinical electrophysiology residency program application deadline is December 31, 2020. Applicants will be notified no later than January 5, 2021 of acceptance to the program. Early application is strongly encouraged. Residents will need to be in the Montgomery area and ready to start the program on January 11, 2021. The program will be for a one year period and end on January 31, 2022.
We are an EMG and NCS testing company. Electromyography, or EMG, is paired with nerve conduction studies, NCS, to evaluate the integrity of the peripheral nervous system and how it interacts with the muscles. We provide in-house services on a referral basis.
