On June 2nd, Quinn Millington, PT, DPT, ECS, OCS met with physical therapy students at Faulkner University for a morning of fun and education in clinical electroneuromyography (EMG/NCS). Students were taught on the basics of nerve and muscle physiology as well as nerve pathology. The lecture was followed by a lab experience in which each student had the opportunity to perform a median nerve study on each other. EMG Solutions is proud to have partnered with Cadwell Laboratories and their representative, Gray Hodges, to provide the equipment and supplies for the laboratory experience. “It was a huge success!”, said Chris Ireland, associate professor and Director of Clinical Education at Faulkner University. Heather Mount, associate professor and Director of The Physical Therapy Studies Program added, “This is a wonderful experience for the students!!”
The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) requires Physical Therapy schools educate their students in clinical electrophysiology (Standards and Required Elements for Accreditation of Physical Therapist Education Programs, Standard 7, 7D19, citation 52). EMG Solutions offers a basic course with included laboratory experience that meets your CAPTE requirements. If your school is located in the Southeastern United States and is interested in partnering with EMG Solutions to educate your students in clinical EMG/NCS, contact us through our website at https://emgsolutions.com/contact-us/ or by calling 334-318-9023.
