The What and Why of What We Do

EMG Solutions was founded in 2003.  After 17 years in service with growth every year, we are filling our unique niche in the business/medical world. Realizing that many may not understand the what and why of what we do, we’d like to share a bit of the heart behind our business.

Who We Are

We are Doctors of Physical Therapy who have completed the additional education and training to become board certified in electrodiagnostic testing. This is no easy feat and we are proud of the hard work, long hours, and intense study we have accomplished. This means that we are certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists as Electrophysiologic Certified Specialists (ECS).

What We Do

We are certified to perform studies on the nerves and muscles in your body. This test asses the health of muscles and the nerves that control them. Your doctor may also order an NCV study (Nerve Conduction Velocity or Nerve Conduction Study.) This is a different test that we also perform that measures the strength of the signal traveling along a nerve. The combination of both studies help doctors to see if the issue is nerve or muscle dysfunction, or a problem with nerve to muscles signals.

How We Partner with your Doctor

When we partner with your doctor, we will schedule a day to complete testing at your doctor’s office. Larger offices may need a full day every week to accommodate their patients while smaller offices may need a half-day every two weeks. We tailor our services to the needs of the office. After we complete the electrodiagnostic testing, we deliver a detailed report to the doctor who ordered your tests. The doctor will then use the information to help determine the diagnosis and next step in treatment. We provide these reports on the same day of testing. This allows crucial time to be saved allowing physicians to plan and provide care in a much more timely manner (which also Increases cash flow for physicians).

The Why

Our goal and mission is to make this entire process as stress-free as possible. From the doctors and clinics we partner with to each patient, we strive to create the best testing experience possible. Doctors no longer have to wait weeks just to have their patients tested then wait even more to get test results and then wait even longer to begin the next step of treatment for their patients. Doctors control the scheduling days and the patients are seen in your office. Oftentimes our patients are tested due to injuries or medical conditions that make it hard to navigate a new office. (Let’s be honest-it’s difficult to navigate any new doctor’s office!) When patients can be tested in the familiar offices of their current doctor, the stress is much less on them.

Hopefully, you can see a little bit more of the heart behind our business. The what and why of what we do are all centered around serving people. Thank you to those who have chosen to partner with us in your patients’ care.

Welcome!

We are an EMG and NCS testing company. Electromyography, or EMG, is paired with nerve conduction studies, NCS, to evaluate the integrity of the peripheral nervous system and how it interacts with the muscles. We provide in-house services on a referral basis.
